We ship orders out within 1-3 days after receiving them. Depending on where you live in the country – orders generally arrive within one week after shipment.

Yes, seeds that contain gluten, such as barley and wheat, are gluten-free at the microgreen stage.

No. Micgroreens only need sunlight and water as they contain all they need to sprout, grow and survive.

Root hair, also called cilia, is a natural structure of the root that helps to increase surface area and reaches into the water. Sometimes it can be hard to tell the difference between mold and root hair. Here are some things to look for:

  • Root hairs are fuzzy; mold is like a spider web
  • Root hairs are not slimy; mold is
  • Root hairs have no odor; mold smells musty
  • Root hairs will disappear after rinsing and come back in a few hours; mold does not disappear after rinsing
  • Root hair is found on the root part; mold is located above the soil levels or between microgreens.

Microgreens like to rest on each other while growing; check that you have sown seeds densely enough. It might also be past time to harvest.

Microgreens that are weak and leggy may have spent too long in the dark or not gotten enough light. Yellow microgreens are expected in the blackout period since the chlorophyll in the leaves has not carried out photosynthesis. When micros are placed in the light, they will turn green.

The jute grow mat must remain wet but not soaking throughout the growing period. Do not let the mat dry out at any time. You can also spritz microgreens with a mister for additional moisture.

I have never grown food in my home, so I was really excited to receive my order of The Good Box. My kids joined in on the fun of unpackaging, and we were so excited to see all of the goodies in the box. I was not expecting an entire book on the wonders of microgreens, so that was an added surprise.

The box where you grow your greens is absolutely gorgeous. In the few days that I had it on my counter, closed, as I waited for the microgreens to sprout, nearly everyone who visited wanted to know what was inside. The quality is just outstanding. I was nervous that it wasn’t going to be dark enough for my microgreens to sprout, but the black-out-lid is amazing. Even if you’ve never grown anything, you can do this! The small instruction card that give you tips on how to be successful is invaluable.

I’m really excited to enjoy a micro greens throughout our long winter months here in the Northeast! I’m also going to gift a few of these to friends for the holidays. It’s a perfect gift for so many people.

What I like best about the product is how easy it is to grow and have my own greens. The box is beautiful I took it camping in my Airstream and was able to make my own greens while camping and have fresh product to accent my food.

Microgreens are a delicious addition to a healthy lifestyle and are loaded with polyphenols, antioxidants linked to a lower risk of heart disease. My family and I have enjoyed growing and harvesting fresh microgreens from the Good Box. The system is foolproof, providing the perfect blackout period, and looks fantastic sitting on our counter. I highly recommend this product to anyone who desires to be healthy. Growing microgreens 365 days a year has never been easier.

My goal as a busy mom is to make eating nutrient-dense foods accessible for my family. These microgreens are super easy to grow and everyone in the family harvests them for their meals- from eggs to salads to open-faced sandwiches.

  8. Beatrice S. (store manager)

The Good Box has been a huge hit with my kids in our homeschool. We are learning about the importance of growing food and this product has really helped me get the lessons across. The greens are easy to grow and taste great and even my five-year-old is getting into it which is fantastic.

  9. Steve R. (store manager)

I love microgreens but hate trying to find them fresh in the store. They are always limp and not very tasty. Growing my own has been a great experience and I love that I have control over some of my own food supply. Fun and educational product and a great conversation starter when I have friends over for dinner.

  10. Jennifer L. (store manager)

Thank you for making this product. I love that it is American made and supporting your Christian-based small business feels really great. I love the microgreens and how they look on my counter as they are growing. Can’t wait for more seed types to be added. I will be a returning customer.
