I’ve been growing food for over 30 years, and I want to share some information about one of my favorite little crops with BIG value – microgreens!!

These miraculous mini-veggies have become all the rage in the health, wellness, and culinary art spaces. And for good reason!

Research conducted by the University of Maryland found that microgreens contain 40 times more vitamins and minerals then their full-grown versions.

This means you can eat just a handful of microgreens daily and get the same nutritional value that you would from a huge bowl of veggies!

They have even been studied for their beneficial effects on a variety of chronic diseases.

Microgreens, also known as micro-herbs, grow super-fast, taste delicious, and can be grown in any indoor space 365 days a year—from a classic house in the suburbs to a studio apartment or even an off-grid home, van or RV.

Nutrients in Microgreens:

  • Protective antioxidants
  • Vitamins
  • Minerals
  • Enzymes
  • And a variety of other powerhouse phytonutrients

But there is a catch...

But there is a catch...

Once I got hooked on microgreens, I constantly encouraged my clients, friends, family (and anyone who would listen) to eat them.

However, I soon learned that high-quality microgreens aren’t that easy to get your hands on.

Finding them at the grocery store can be difficult, and when you find a source, the greens are often expensive, packaged in plastic, and not consistently fresh.

My health coaching clients willing to try growing them were quickly discouraged due to the equipment needs, the mess, and the overall learning curve.

In the end, most of my clients gave up on microgreens.

In the end, most of my clients gave up on microgreens.

But I was not ready to give up.

Not when I knew how life-changing and healing these superfoods can be.

So, I took a step back and consulted with my best friend, creative advisor, craftsman, and husband, Thomas.

We talked about how important it was to share the truth that God has given us everything we need to thrive and how his provision of food is clearly woven into creation.

And God said, “Behold, I have given you every plant yielding seed that is on the face of all the earth, and every tree with seed in its fruit. You shall have them for food.”

Genesis 1:29

This just inspired us to come up with the perfect solution that would enable us to help people grow microgreens.

Thomas + Susan

I knew that we needed to focus on empowering people to grow microgreens.

This was the best way to make these plants accessible and affordable. But, I also knew I had to make it incredibly easy, practical, and fail-proof…or no one would keep up with it.

So my husband and I began designing the perfect system.

We tried out all the best microgreen kits on the market.

Thomas, a talented craftsman, began to create prototypes based on our design, and we tested these on family, friends, and clients. We finally came up with the best system for growing microgreens at home in just 5 easy steps.

Our prayers were answered, and The Good Box was born.

What is Not in a Good Box Matters

Toxins are everywhere these days, in our food, the air we breathe, household products, makeup, skincare, etc.

And although we can’t avoid all chemical exposure, we must do our best to live a low-tox lifestyle.

One area where we can control our toxin exposure is our food—which also applies to growing microgreens.

If you grow your microgreens (or any type of food) in a toxic environment, such as a plastic or vinyl container, for example, those toxins like BPA, BPS, phthalates, etc., are absorbed into the food.

This defeats the entire purpose of growing healthy food!

Bottom line: the type of container or system you grow your microgreens in matters as much as the type of seeds and growing practices you use.

We took extra care to ensure a toxin-free and waste-free growing experience. This means that The Good Box does not include certain things.

No More Failing at Microgreens!

Even if you’ve failed at growing microgreens before, you can master this system on the first try…guaranteed.

Here’s how it works in just 5 easy steps:

Step 1:

Run both sides of jute mate under water. Make sure it is saturated. It will turn a dark brown color and feel heavy.

Step 2:

Scatter the seeds evenly over the mat and place the lid on the box. Keep an eye on the mat, don’t let it dry out.

Step 3:

Once microgreens have sprouted (usually 3 days or so) take off the lid and set it under the grow box. Place box where it will get plenty of natural light.

Step 4:

Check the mat daily and keep it wet. A light spray with the kitchen faucet works great. Rotate the box for even growth.

Step 5:

Harvest in 4-7 days by snipping off at mat level with clean scissors. Wipe the tray off with a clean cloth, and get ready to grow some more!

Ta Da!

No mess, no mildew, no wilting or uneven growth. Just a full harvest of fresh, nutrient-rich microgreens to enjoy.

Harvest them all at once and store them in a glass container in your crisper. Or leave them on display and harvest as needed.

Once your greens are completely harvested, simply compost the jute mat and start again.

I can definitely do this…Order Now!

Plus, Your Success Is Guaranteed.

We are so confident you will succeed at growing microgreens with The Good Box that we offer a 100% money-back satisfaction guarantee.

If, after following the instructions faithfully, your greens won’t grow, send us an email, and we will provide support and if this does not solve the issue we will offer a full return.

And since there’s no membership requirement, returns are easy.

“I used to take a handful of supplements in order to get all the nutrients my body needed until I started enjoying the goodness of microgreens. After purchasing them for years at my local grocer, I was introduced to The Good Box and was thrilled at just how easy and satisfying it was to actually grow my very own vitamins at home – right on my kitchen counter. Thank you for making such an amazing product that promotes health and wellness and combines it with the fun of growing! I love it!”

Microgreens Over Multivitamins

I tell people that growing microgreens is like growing your very own multivitamins right on your kitchen counter. When you get the nutrients you need from food, such as microgreens, your body understands what to do with it.

Supplementing with multivitamin pills is a popular pursuit but one that must be approached with caution. Many of the vitamins and supplements on the market are loaded with fillers, made with subpar ingredients and quite expensive.

Additionally, multivitamins contain high amounts of vitamins and minerals because the body does not absorb them well in supplement form. However, when you consume microgreens, the body knows exactly what to do with all of the goodness found in these plants.

“The power of microgreens is amazing – they contain so many beneficial nutrients. Even my dog loves to munch on them! This is the nicest-looking box I have ever seen and functional too. Everyone who comes over comments on my Good Box and wants me to explain what it does. I love the spicy mix for soups and salads, and I put the mild in my morning smoothies.”

Yes, seeds that contain gluten, such as barley and wheat, are gluten-free at the microgreen stage.

Because many microgreen types have high vitamin K levels, large quantities may cause issues for people taking blood thinner medication. If you take this medication, speak with your doctor before enjoying microgreens.

No. Micgroreens only need sunlight and water as they contain all they need to sprout, grow and survive.

Root hair, also called cilia, is a natural structure of the root that helps to increase surface area and reaches into the water. Sometimes it can be hard to tell the difference between mold and root hair. Here are some things to look for:

  • Root hairs are fuzzy; mold is like a spider web
  • Root hairs are not slimy; mold is
  • Root hairs have no odor; mold smells musty
  • Root hairs will disappear after rinsing and come back in a few hours; mold does not disappear after rinsing
  • Root hair is found on the root part; mold is located above the soil levels or between microgreens.
Microgreens like to rest on each other while growing; check that you have sown seeds densely enough. It might also be past time to harvest.
Microgreens that are weak and leggy may have spent too long in the dark or not gotten enough light. Yellow microgreens are expected in the blackout period since the chlorophyll in the leaves has not carried out photosynthesis. When micros are placed in the light, they will turn green.

The jute grow mat must remain wet but not soaking throughout the growing period. Do not let the mat dry out at any time. You can also spritz microgreens with a mister for additional moisture.
